Nucleon Fuel, a subsidiary of Nucleon Energy, is exploring potential locations for a new uranium conversion facility in the Gillette area of Wyoming. The proposed project is part of our efforts to expand North America’s uranium conversion capacity, strengthen the nuclear fuel supply chain and support the long-term growth of nuclear energy.

Uranium conversion is an important step in the nuclear fuel cycle, preparing uranium for further processing into nuclear fuel. Developing additional conversion capacity in North America could help strengthen domestic fuel infrastructure and support long-term energy security.

Why Community Engagement Matters

As we explore this opportunity in the Gillette area, engaging with local residents, businesses and community stakeholders will be an important part of our planning process.

We’re committed to sharing information about the proposed project, answering questions and hearing perspectives from those who live and work in the region. To begin these conversations, we’re hosting a Community Open House in Gillette on October 28, providing an opportunity to meet our team, learn more about uranium conversion and discuss the potential opportunities for Campbell County and Wyoming.
